Ballers Season 1-5 (5BD) Blu-ray
Step into the glamorous and competitive world of professional football with Ballers, the HBO comedy series starring Dwayne Johnson as former superstar Spencer Strasmore.
After retiring from professional football, Spencer reinvents himself as a financial manager for current and former athletes. Working alongside a colorful group of players, agents, executives and friends, Spencer attempts to build a successful second career while helping his clients navigate the complicated world of professional sports.
Set primarily in Miami, the series explores the business and personal sides of professional football. Spencer and his associates deal with contracts, investments, endorsements, team ownership, career changes and the pressures that come with life in the sports industry.
Across Seasons 1-5, Spencer’s career and relationships evolve as he becomes increasingly involved in the business side of professional football. Along the way, the series follows memorable characters including Joe Krutel, Ricky Jerret, Charles Greane, Vernon Littlefield, Reggie and Jason Antolotti.
The series combines comedy, drama, sports and business, balancing humorous situations with stories about ambition, loyalty, friendship, competition and the challenges faced by professional athletes after leaving the field.
Season 5 brings the story to its conclusion. Spencer receives an opportunity to pursue team ownership, while Joe, Ricky, Charles, Vernon and the rest of the group face their own professional and personal challenges. The eighth episode, “Players Only,” serves as the series finale.
