Product Description
Travel back through Earth’s ancient history with Prehistoric Planet, the acclaimed natural-history series from Apple TV+ and the BBC Studios Natural History Unit.
Across Seasons 1-3, the series takes viewers into remarkable prehistoric environments and introduces some of the most fascinating creatures ever to have lived.
Season 1
Season 1 travels approximately 66 million years into the past, exploring the world of dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures.
From vast oceans and tropical islands to forests and deserts, the series recreates ancient ecosystems and shows how dinosaurs lived, hunted, communicated, raised their young, and competed for survival.
The season combines scientific research with cinematic visual effects to recreate prehistoric animals and environments in extraordinary detail.
Season 2
Season 2 expands the prehistoric world with new dinosaurs, ancient environments, and fascinating animal behaviours.
Viewers encounter creatures living across land, sea, and sky while discovering how prehistoric animals adapted to different environments and survived the challenges of their ancient world.
The series continues to combine natural-history storytelling with photorealistic visual effects, creating an immersive journey into the age of dinosaurs. Apple describes the first two seasons as taking viewers 66 million years into the past to witness the age of dinosaurs.
Season 3 – Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age
Season 3 introduces a dramatic new chapter known as Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age.
Instead of returning to the dinosaur era, this season moves millions of years forward into the Pleistocene, exploring the world of Ice Age megafauna.
Viewers encounter spectacular prehistoric animals including woolly mammoths, saber-toothed cats, woolly rhinos, giant ground sloths, giant bears, and other remarkable creatures.
The five-part season explores frozen tundras, deserts, grasslands, melting permafrost, and other changing habitats as prehistoric animals struggle to survive extreme climates and shifting landscapes.
A Spectacular Prehistoric Journey
Prehistoric Planet combines the latest scientific understanding with cinematic storytelling and photorealistic visual effects.
Across three seasons, viewers can experience dramatically different periods of prehistoric life — from the age of dinosaurs in Seasons 1-2 to the Ice Age megafauna of Season 3.
The series is produced by the BBC Studios Natural History Unit, with Jon Favreau and Mike Gunton among the executive producers. Tom Hiddleston provides narration.
This 3BD Blu-ray collection brings together Seasons 1-3 for an exciting prehistoric viewing experience.
