The Boondocks Season 1-4 (4BD) Blu-ray
Enter the sharp, satirical and often unpredictable world of The Boondocks, the acclaimed adult animated series created by Aaron McGruder and based on his comic strip.
The series follows brothers Huey and Riley Freeman, who move with their grandfather Robert Freeman from Chicago’s South Side to the predominantly white suburb of Woodcrest. Their new surroundings become the setting for a wide range of family conflicts, cultural clashes, social commentary and outrageous adventures.
Huey is thoughtful, outspoken and politically aware, while his younger brother Riley has a very different attitude and is heavily influenced by contemporary hip-hop culture. Their grandfather, known as Granddad, attempts to enjoy a quieter life but repeatedly finds himself caught up in the brothers’ unpredictable behavior and the eccentric characters around them.
Across Seasons 1-4, The Boondocks combines comedy, drama, action, animation and social satire, using exaggerated characters and humorous situations to explore subjects including race, culture, politics, class, family and life in contemporary America.
The series features memorable characters including Huey Freeman, Riley Freeman, Granddad, Uncle Ruckus, Tom Dubois and many other residents of Woodcrest. Each season delivers a mixture of outrageous comedy, action-packed situations and sharp social commentary.
Season 4 serves as the final season of the original series. Adult Swim’s fourth season concluded with the series finale “The New Black” in June 2014.
This 4BD Blu-ray collection brings together Seasons 1-4 of The Boondocks, making it a convenient complete-series collection for fans of adult animation, comedy, satire and character-driven television.
